Weather Alert Radio

Keep your family safe with advance warning. As a co-op member, you can purchase a Midland Tone Alert Radio at Boone Electric for a special discounted price of $49.95 plus tax. The WR-300 radio will alert you to possible severe weather, Amber alerts and other hazardous situations.

In June of 2002, with the collaboration of Central Electric Power Cooperative, Premier Marketing Group (now Cumulus Media), the National Weather Service and the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), a 1,000-watt weather transmitter was affixed to the KOQL-FM (Q106.1) radio tower in Moniteau County. The radio tower provides mid-Missouri residents with early severe weather warning coverage on 162.425 MHz. The weather transmitter sends a signal to your weather radio.

For more information about purchasing a weather radio, contact the Member Services Department at 573-449-4181 or stop by our office.
